Šibenik botuni
A button is another name for a button or button. The name itself indicates that it was used in the role of a button, i.e. Button. The first botuns date back to the 1st millennium BC, found in Illyrian graves, but they were not markedly decorated. Later, in the 17th century, they were worn by soldiers, had a protective function such as weapons or military medals and were the most valuable part of the family property.
They were worn only by men and indicated the social position and power of the wearer. Today, they can be found on the folk costumes of the Drniš and Cetina regions.
According to the Croatian National Tourist Board, 2007. In 2010, the Šibenik botun was declared the most original Croatian souvenir.

Rečine is an old-fashioned name for earrings. They are also known as baskets. They originate from Dalmatia, from the Split and Dubrovnik areas, and the surrounding islands.
They can be pure, but corals or pearls are often used in the production to complement them and create even more luxury.

Konavle earrings
They originate from the Dubrovnik region. It is known that Konavle earrings or chains are part of the Konavle folk costume. In the past, wealthy young men from the Dubrovnik region gave earrings to their chosen ones when they got married.
Konavle earrings come with corals or pearls hanging at the bottom of the earring. It is known that unmarried girls wear konavle with pearls, and married women with corals. Also, the size of the earrings is age-appropriate. Smaller Konavle shoes were worn by little girls and replaced with larger ones as they grew older.
Traditional jewelry is made using a special filigree technique, and as this jewelry became more and more popular, more and more masters learned the filigree technique of jewelry making, which is considered extremely valuable today.
Let’s talk a little bit about the filigree technique.
The filigree technique is a technique of soldering fine silver or gold wires, combined with small balls where an ornament is made, most often flower-shaped.
The name filigree comes from the Latin word filium, where filin means thread, s granum means grain.
